Check-in
To arrange check-in please let us know at what time you expect to arrive in Ebeltoft. Check-in is possible when I’m done cleaning and until 21.00
Our official times for check-in is 18.00 – 21.00
Please note the front door is always locked, and you need the room key to open it.
If you would kindly let me know what your estimated time of arrival & your plan for the day is, then I have a better chance for planning cleaning, shopping and more. It will also allow me to be much more flexible in relations to the times of check-in and check-out. So thank you very much in advance for your help.
Please remember to send me a text message in case your estimated time of arrival changes on the actual day of arrival.

Check-out
Personal check-out is possible most days from 08.00 till 10.00
If you cant see me, then please press the small indoor doorbell.
You fill find it next to the map of Mols-Bjerge in the entrance. And just like the bell outside, you need to press it until it turns red.
Check-out officially no later than 10.00
But if I know that all the arriving guest arrives in Ebeltoft late afternoon/evening. Because they start their day hiking in Mols-Bjerge or get here by bus in the evening. Then it will be possible for you to check-out a bit later.

Shared kitchen
During your stay you have access to shared kitchen facilities.
Each room has a reserved dining area and a box in the fridge, look for your room number to find yours. You are welcome to store food during your stay. The dining area and the box will be cleaned at check-out.
The are supermarkets within walking distance. Kvickly and 365 app. 700 meters from us. Føtex and Rema 1000 app. 1 km. it takes about 10-15 minutes to walk to the supermarket. It can take a lot longer driving.
If you do not feel like making your own meals when you stay here, then you have plenty of nice restaurants and cafés in our neighborhood. Where you can buy brunch, lunch and dinner.
Please remember to book a table in advance, no matter what season you are going to Ebeltoft.

We have a variety of beverages for sale and a couple of snacks.
Some of the beverages you can purchase here are; coffee, tea, soft drinks, ordinary beers, special beers and nice wines that we purchase at the local wine shop.

Quiet hours 22.00 – 07.00
To ensure that all guests have the chance of getting a goods night sleep, we have quiet hours from 10 pm in the evening until 7 am in the morning every day of the week.
You can of course get back “home” if you are out late.
Just use your room key to open the front door, and please be quiet and respectful towards the other guest.

Free WIFI and no TV at ibsens gaard
We have 2 free WIFI here, to ensure you are covered at the entire premises. For access information please see the folder in your room.
We have chosen to value the quiet nights over the chose of having a TV, a lot of our guest come here to relax and sleep after a long day hiking.
If you need to watch your favorite program or the news, then we recommend that you bring a tablet or a smartphone so you can stream the program.
If you are a sports fan you will find 2 places in the neighborhood were you can see EM, VM and more, please contact them directly to check if they air the “game” you wish to see. We made a small post in relations to EM 2024 about the location of these places, see the post to find the “sports bars”

Free public parking
We are located in a residential area and share the parking spaces with the other residents and their guests.
You are allowed to park in our street Søndergade, as long as you do not park at the pavement, block exits and as long emergency vehicles can pass by.
There are actual a lot of parking spaces available here and close by.

Animals are not allowed access
We do love animals and have a biodiversity garden, but because of asthma and allergies animals have to remain outdoors.
Please help us keeping windows and doors closed, to ensure the “wildlife” do not enter.
It has happened more than once that a birds fly in the open door and the neighbor cat knows how to squeeze’s itself into empty rooms using a very small window opening.
Please note that the window child lock only assist in relation to prevent kids from crawling out, it will not keep anybody nor any animals out.
You will occasionally hear martens, seagulls and other animals landing on the roof and running around, but with joint help, we can ensure that they do not stray into the house.
Thank you very much in advance, for keeping the windows and doors completely closed when you are not in the room.

Smokers corner
We have a small nice corner for smokers, this is the only place at our premises where smoking is allowed.
It is allowed for smokers to ask nonsmokers, that enjoy the evening sun in the smoking corner, to take a seat elsewhere so there is room for you to enjoy your smoke in the smokers corner 🙂
Smoking is prohibited everywhere else, both indoors, in the garden and in front of the house.

Environmentally conscious ?
If you are an environmentally conscious guest, then you are most welcome to bring your own bed linen and towels. You will find pillows and duvets in the room.
Remember that for hygiene reasons it is mandatory to use pillowcases, duvet covers and sheets for all the beds.
If you wish to use a sleeping bag or similar, then we can remove the duvet and pillow from the room, to give you more space. Please remember you still need use sheets for the beds.
It is of course possible to rent bed linen and towels from us. But we would like to know this in advance.

Get a chill nights sleep
One of the advantages of keeping the windows closed is that the summer heat does not enter your room. If you roll down both curtains at the same time, you can ensure a comfortable night temperature in the summer.
Why? Because the rooms are located below ground level and the ground temperature in the summer is colder than the air and sun temperature. An very efficient and environmental cooling system.
In the evening when the outside temperature is cooler, you can open the window to get fresh air in.
But please only open the windows if you are in the room yourself.
If you want to sleep with the window open in winter or at other times when it is cool outside, please lower the temperature on the radiator. You do this by pressing “V” until you reach a temperature that matches the outside night temperature or down to the setting “frost protection”.

Please keep the windows closed, when you are not in the room
It is important that you always keep the windows closed when you are not in the room. This will prevent unwanted animals and persons to gain access to our place.
The child lock on the windows are only prevent kids from crawling out of the rooms. The hook is easy to open from the outside, and the neighbor cat knows how to squeeze in a small window opening.
Furthermore your room will be filled with bugs, rain, dust and grass, when the grass is mowed by us or the neighbor.

No late outdoor stays
You are most welcome to enjoy our patio and garden during the day and early evening.
In the summer, there are parasols, tables and chairs on the grass, so you can sit outside and enjoy the weather.
When the clock strikes 10 pm, according to our grants, it is no longer allowed to stay in the garden, regardless of who you are. Due to our suburban location in a residential area. So no people are allowed outside at our premises after 10 p.m.
The police have also pointed out that the garden must be cleaned up before 10 p.m.
Thank you very much for helping us to keep the garden neat, tidy and surrendered to the animals of the forest when the clock strikes 10 p.m.
Please always remember to close the parasol if you open it, also during the day.

Payment
Rented bed linen and towels as well as the purchase of beverages and snacks, are paid directly here, you can use Vipps, MobilePay most common cards & phones please see the entire list here
Online reservations:
All reservations made via AirBnB and booking.com are prepaid to these agents and you only have to pay for extra purchases such as beverages, linen and Reiki.
Direct reservations:
Reservations made directly to us, with arrival in 3 weeks or more, will receive an e-mail confirmation with information about how to prepay.
Last minute reservations will receive a text or WhatsApp message with a confirmation number and payment information.

No code needed – you have to use the room key
We do not hand our access codes for the door, as it will be affected buy power outs (low battery).
It is always possible to open the door using the oldfashion room key 🙂
We have been told, that booking .com forward something similar to a access code for the door. We don’t know anything about this. We have never given them any access code, any codes from them will not open our door.
If previously agreed, we can remotely open the door for a few seconds when you are standing in front of it, but this requires that we are informed in advance about your time of arrival, as we must be within mobile coverage.
In case of arrival after 21.00 or times when we are out of reach, an alternative key pick up will have to be arranged.
ALWAYS remember to let us know your time of arrival the day before, and text us on the day of arrival it it changes.

Amend or cancelling reservations
Please note we can only amend and cancel reservations if you have booked directly.
Direct reservations
We mainly receive reservations via phone text or WhatsApp. Terms of amendment and cancellations are listed in the pdf confirmation, you have received via e-mail.
If you have made an last minute reservation and only received an text confirmation then text us back 😉
Online reservations
We only use AirBnB and booking.com for all online reservaions.
All changes and amendments have to be made via the platform you used.
- Login to your account (where you booked the room)
- Find the reservation online
- Press cancel or amend (follow their instructions)
- If you do not follow their guidelines, they will not refund you
The room will remain blocked in booking agents system, until the change is completed. Which affects your option of receiving a refund.
It’s not because we want to be troublesome but we cannot logon to your personal account and make the changes for you. Furthermore, it is the agent who are in charge of payments and refunds in connection with timely made cancellations, so if you would like you money back you have to cancel the correct way.
There are different cancellation and change conditions depending on the type of booking you have made online, this should be clear from the information sent to you from the agent.
When we have the opportunity to resell the room to another guest, we are very flexible regarding changes and cancellations, but no-shows are automatically charged.
